Present Day Animation

Music Videos
Stop motion music videos ar ehard to do as the timing for the singing could be out if you dont get the frames per second right. Most stop motion animations have a frame rate of 24 frames per second or 30 frames per second. This is so that the animation looks smooth and is constant. If the director was instant that the animtion looked perfect he could study the human mouth to look at how each word is said and, then he or she could appoly this to their animation by making sure that the singing looked like the actual song in the final animation.
Below is an example of a music video there is no person on screen singing as i stated before it is really hard to pick up the words with pixelation. Therefore most music video animations are made so that the video suits the song and goes along with it, not like a normal video where you see the person singing.

Video Games
The early video games like snake or pac man, involve stop motion animation. An example of this is snake this is because if you look at the snake as it moves Pixel every frames so there for you get the impression that the snake is moving across the screen. So with each movement of the snake its effectively in a different photo each time, and each time the snake collects a piece a food the snake gains in length. Therefore thinking about it in depth snake the game is a stop motion within its self.

Animation in Idents

E4 are always using stop motion animation for their idents. I think that they use stop motion animation with a mixture of surrealism to make people remember the ident and if it sticks with a viewer they then discuss it with someone then that's how you make a successful ident. in this advert you can see that it is random which makes it fit into the surrealism genre. But at the same time you can see the E4 logo is branded in the ident several times so this helps the viewer remember the channel.
