My Work

Flip Book Animation

This is my flip book animation of a stick falling of a plank and falling to his death. This video is 2 seconds long and I have used 41 frames meaning that I have about 20.5 frames per second making up the movement. I have learnt while in class that the more frames per second you have the smoother and better the animation will look when finished. For example if you were to have ten frames per second the animation would jolt with every second and image that went by, however if you increased the frames per second to either 20 or 30 you get a much smooth animation, and it looks almost as if the animation is a running film. So I have learnt from this that if I were to have in creased the frames per second to 25 frames per second for both the second i could have made my stick man animation a lot smoother and in-turn making the flip-book feel as if there was a mini movie in your hands.

I like Stop Motion Animation because it gives you the ability to turn almost every standing object into a moving animation on either film or paper. I look forward to looking into detail at how this type of animation come about and how this animation made it big in the media industry. It will a really good in sight to see if you can do more with the type of animation as I feel I'm hooked already so I myself can't wait to do some more stop motion animation so I can go on to create better animations.

First Stop Motion Animation

In this stop motion animation I make my pencil case come to life by moving it around on screen and my making it open and close. during the duration where it open and closes the pencil case spits out my calculator and ruler. during these few seconds the calculator and ruler part and the ruler meets with a protractor to where they both slide out of shot. From shooting this animation I have learnt that if you use small movements on each object at the start of every shoot and use slightly bigger movements in the middle, then finally going back to small movements you will make the animation look a lot smoother and in turn making the animation more eye pleasing.

Surreal Animation
Here our task was to create a surreal animation, surreal basically means something out of the ordinary or something that is not natural, this type of animation can unnerve the viewers or sometimes make them uncomfortable. In our animation there isn't really a story to it which makes it even more bizzare and different from your average animation. I will look at surrealism on another page so be sure to check it out.
